Hi everyone!
I took 250 photos today! And when you scroll down and look at them you will understand why!!!
We caught the 9am train to Zurich and spent 2 hours there exploring. We were so lucky, today was gorgeous and sunny! We had a look at a few different churches, the river and a chocolate cafe. Much busier than Lucerne, not as beautiful but still very picturesque!
Then we got a train to St Moritz via Chur. Wow I'd all I can say. Switzerland is by far the most beautiful country I have ever visited. I didn't read at all on the train and neither did mum (that's saying something!!!) because it was just so beautiful you couldn't look away. We passed little villages, snowy mountains, castles on hilltops, lakes, rivers, people out bike riding and skiing in the sun and so much more. It was incredible.
When we arrived in st moritz we climbed up the hill with our suitcases to our hotel. So tiring!! We got to our hotel though and the lady is soooo nice! She upgraded us to a luxury room because she has Australian family - woohoo! We have a balcony with a view over the town.
We went for a walk around town and across the lake, it is completely frozen! So much so that they have a horse race on it every year called 'white turf' which was set up! We walked through the town centre which is a lot like Milan, lots of big brand shops! It's 1800m above sea level here and soo snowy! Absolutely beautiful. As well, the town is abuzz because of the horse race and toboggan races going on at the moment. There is a gourmet food market on in the main street so we had chicken tikka masala for tea - yum and only 12 francs!
Loving it here, Switzerland is just amazing. Tomorrow 8 hour glacier express glass walled train ride. I am really excited!!! Probably another 250 photos hahaha
Love to all,
Claire
Ps: went to Bucherer and there was a special Piaget party going on. We got free champers and canapés! Woohoo! And no one looked down their nose at us :)
