Flew to Athens and drove to Ancient Olympia

Hello all!!

Today we caught an airport train in Izmir, then flew to Athens. Once in Athens hired a car and drove about 4 hours (with the help of a gps) to Ancient Olympia. The drive was beautiful! Beautiful mountains some snow capped! Gorgeous little villages on the hills. Looking forward to driving back through them on Sunday and stopping Along the way!

The hotel we chose here is so clean and spacious, with a cute little old Greek lady who doesn't speak much English but is very helpful! We walked around the town and had dinner at a restaurant that had about 4 locals in it. Had an amazing souvlaki and Greek yoghurt with honey. Oh my god it was yum!!!!! My stomach ache is all gone too so yay!!

Stopped at a shop on way back to hotel and bought a lovely bracelet which was 20 euros (about $24). The man said in summer it would be 40 euros. So to anyone who asked why I come in winter: cheap accommodation (currently in a spacious, clean and lovely hotel for $25 a night each with a bathroom Internet and brekky included!), little or no tourists (got Gallipoli and Ephesus tours to ourselves!), weather is just beautiful (sunny and just a nice temperature). Am loving it!

Really liked Turkey but for some reason I'm feeling a lot more at home in Greece! Must be your doing Billy haha.

Lots of love to all,
Claire xoxox
