Sunset at Oia

Hi everyone!!

So last night we went to Oia for the sunset. Oia is another town in Santorini, up the north of the island. The sunset here is said to be one of the things you have to see before you die!

We got gyros and some alcohol and had a little picnic up there. Took lots of photos and enjoyed the beautiful sunset!

Didn't see any proposals which apparently is rare as lots of people propose there! We did however see a lot of pushy tourists trying to push us out of the way!!! Oh well. We got our view in the end. 

Bought two small oil paintings on the way back and then had an ice cream. After a quick stop at the bar again I headed home for an early night. Today we head to Ios which is a big party island so I wanted to save my energy!!!

Santorini bucket list tour

Hey everyone

Have now uploaded all pictures from yesterday so scroll down if you didn't see those :)

Today we went on a Santorini bucket list day tour. Note everyone went, it was just me, Gracie, Luke, Adam, Dave and Jake (and Tom of course!!). 

We started off the day by going to Perissia and the black beach. Santorini is next to a volcano, and the ash from an eruption long ago has caused the sand here to be black. We had an omelette at the restaurant there which was delicious. Then played some beach volleyball and chilled out on the beach. 

Next stop was the red beach. This sand is red due to lava from long ago! Firstly here we had an ice cream and then went to the Minoan civilisation excavation site. The Minoans were here in the 17th century BC and then evacuated as they were able to predict eruption through tremors. 

The beach was nice but the rocks really hurt our feet here so didn't swim properly. 

Our last stop was the Santo Winery. The view was absolutely stunning, such a beautiful day. I took lots of photos!!! We tasted a few wines. My favourite is Nektiri (no idea if that's how you spell it!!). 

Tonight we are going to the town of Oia (pronounced Ia) to watch the sunset and have a picnic dinner. I'll try post about that tmro night. Tmro we leave for Ios which is a massive party island. It'll be much easier for me to post daily when I'm by myself :)
