Pompeii

Hi all!

First of all want to say a special get well soon to my nan who had her eye operated on in the last couple of days. I hope you're recovering well Nan :) lots of love xoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Today we caught the train to Pompeii Scavi and spent 6 hours walking around the ancient site. It was so interesting and there is so much to look at! Much bigger than I thought it would be. It was cloudy all day and rained a tiny bit right at the end but was a great day for walking around. We didn't get too tired. We looked at all sorts of ruins such as public baths, a brothel, houses, hospital, bakeries, amphitheatre, fast food shops, temples, archways and more! Saw some casts of people that were killed as well. It's so sad that the whole village was swallowed literally alive but the silver lining is we gain such an incredible insight into life 2000 years ago!

We saw heaps of Aussies today. It's really refreshing every now and then to see people that look like and sound like us! Sometimes it gets a bit crazy with not many people speaking English around! There was a school group who looked about Adams age who we ran into all day.

About to go out and have a bit of a shop, I'm on the hunt for some leather boots!

Love to all
Claire
