Hi everyone!
First of all I realised last night that I completely forgot to give you all the answer to the riddle! See the post two days ago if you've no idea what I'm talking about. The answer: after a period of time prisoner 2 would announce what colour hat he has on. Because if 2 and 3 had the same colour hat on, 1 would speak up straight away knowing he had the opposite hat. So after a period of time prisoner 2 would know prisoner 1's silence would meant that he had a different colour hat to prisoner 3. Congrats to dad for emailing me the right answer!!
So last night our plan was to have a cider in the park and then walk to Shoreditch. But it rained and we got tired so instead we watched a movie and went to sleep haha!!!
Today Erika went to St Paul's cathedral (there's a bus from right out front of my house) and I slept in. Then we met up when she came back and went walking.
We first walked to Spitalfields market. I've only been to Camden which I found really trashy and touristy, and Spitalfields was thankfully quite different! Walked through Shoreditch and showed Erika some of the graffiti and stuff. Reminds me of Collingwood/Brunswick etc at home. The markets were full of funky clothes and accessories, and then I used all the spare change I've accumulated since May 1 to buy a brownie. IT WAS AMAZING. Thought of you Robyn!! Found a Kathmandu store too mum - weird, thought it was an Aussie shop!!
Then we went to Brick Lane, but it wasn't very lively. Think it is more so at night, will go back with Brendon when he's here. We went next to Borough market via the monument to the great fire. After teaching the year 2s all about it I'm now an expert at explaining what happened, so I filled Erika in!! On the way we saw a police convoy and a series of wagons filled with people in fancy cars went past. Turns out there was a parade for the queen's birthday today. Wish we had known!
Borough market was great. Choccers, but great. Such a cool atmosphere under London Bridge! We each had a chicken wrap for lunch and had some samples of good.
Then we walked along to Tower Bridge. Crossed it, walked around the Tower of London and chilled a bit on a bench. A couple who had just been married came by to take photos. The bride looked absolutely stunning! Her dress was gorgeous and we both loved it.
Walked through St Katharine Docks (got Erika her phone box photo!) and then walked and got the bus back. Now we are having a bit of a chill before we meet Jamie for dinner later on.
I've really enjoyed having Erika here! She's off on her tour as of tmro around Europe for 3-4 weeks. Been so good seeing someone from home and catching up!!
Love to all
Claire
