Hi all!
What a great but tiring day!!
Last night I cooked Erika some chicken and veggies with creamy mushroom sauce. Was yummm! Everyone in the flat was home so she got to meet them all.
We went for an evening walk along Regent's Canal. There were so many people having picnics and a drink - really nice atmosphere! Headed into Angel and got some groceries.
Today I had the day off work to be a tourist with Erika! We had such a great day but my feet are killing me. We walked to Oxford Street first of all. Did some shopping in Primark. I got myself some really basic cheap summer clothes, as lots of the ones I wore in South America are either stinky, falling apart or both.
We walked down Oxford Street to Oxford Circus and then continued onto Piccadilly Circus. It was so nice having someone to show it all to! The weather was really muggy today so we both wore shorts, a singlet and flip flops!
We walked then to M&M world - four floors of M&M paraphernalia and giant statues of M&Ms in various London tourist attractions (driving a red bus, Abbey road etc).
Continued through Leicester Square and then went to Trafalgar Square. Decided since I had someone with me I would attempt getting a photo with one of the famous lions! The kids at the primary school absolutely love them so I wanted one to show them next week. It was so much harder than it looked! Had to get a random man to give me a boost, and getting down was really scary!!
Next we had lunch at a pub near Trafalgar Square. Erika wanted to have a nice pub meal while she's here! I had the most amazing pie I've had in my life with veggies and chips. Erika had fish and chips. It was a great meal!! Ashlee came and met us in the pub as well which was good.
The three of us then walked to the Eye. Erika went up but I didn't as I've done it before and think I'm going next week with Brendon. While she did that, Ash and I went for a bit of a walk then sat in the grass near the Eye.
Ashlee left and once Erika finished we walked along Southbank towards the millennium bridge. There were heaps of street performers and random little stalls. We saw a pop up book store under a bridge and a pink double decker bus turned into a frozen yoghurt stand with a top level of seating!!
Ended up at St Paul's cathedral but it was too late in the day for Erika to go in. We got the bus home and were absolutely exhausted! Went to Superdrug (like Priceline) on the way home and picked up a few things.
Tonight we are having rice, chicken and veggies for dinner and then having a cider in the nearby park. Can't do that at home!! Think we may head to Shoreditch for a drink later on as well. At some point tonight I'm going to dress up and Erika is going to take a photo of me holding my two degrees on the iPad and laptop. Monash FINALLY sent my pieces of paper! So after four years of stress, tears and extremely hard work I am now the official proud owner of a bachelor of Science and a bachelor of Education (Secondary)!
Love to all
Claire
