Hi all!
Last night we chilled out. A guy came to view my room for over the summer. He was really nice and it would've been perfect but he's found somewhere else closer to work he tells me :( bugger. Then Brendon and I had a walk along Regent's Canal and a cider. Was really relaxing and we had a good chat. So good to have seen one of my best friends again! He's off on his Topdeck tour tmro but I'll see him again July 12 when we go off for our trip to the Lake District.
Onto today...Well - what an interesting day! Thought I would be doing spelling tests all day, instead I spent the morning session setting up displays in preparation for a possible Ofsted inspection (department of education) and then the rest of the day in the nursery as a TA was sick.
The Aussie equivalent of nursery would be Kinder. I spent the whole day playing with 3-4 year olds - so cute! We made boats and floated them, drew, made stuff. Highlights included one girl asking me about 6 times if I had kids, when I said no looking at me weird and asking why! Three kids told me they loved me - naw. Lowlights included getting blood all over my cardigan when a girl got a blood nose. I also chose to wear a dress and wedges today and my muscles still kill so sitting down, bending down etc with the littlies wasn't too easy!!
We let butterflies they've had in the classroom for 2-3 days this afternoon go which was fun! And it was funny recognising the siblings of kids I've already been teaching in year 2.
That's about it for today - tonight headed to a cider festival with Ashlee and hopefully tmro I'll get those spelling tests done!!
Love to all
Claire
