Stratford and school

Hi everyone!

Two days in one today. It's been very busy and hectic!!

Saturday night Kahn and I went out for a drink with Cecilia (my housemate) and her friend Martine who is staying at the moment. We all walked to Shoreditch - it's so close by! Had a nice night having a drink and a chat.

Yesterday morning I got up at 6am after 4-5 hours sleep to watch Collingwood play North Melbourne. Told you my loyalty wouldn't falter this year!! In the first half I was starting to wish I wasn't so loyal as we were absolutely terrible. But then in the second half I was so proud of our epic comeback!! Amazing!! Was frustrating though as I literally had to sit there in silence so as to not wake Kahn or the housemates. It was very strange not being able to cheer or get excited! Ended up waking Kahn for the last few minutes so I could at least talk to someone about it.

I then spent the rest of the day running some errands and going out to Stratford to catch up with Jamie from the football club! Had such a great afternoon. We went for lunch and then went bowling (I was terrible but improved slightly in the second game!!). Then he showed me around the 2012 Olympic precinct in Stratford. It's so huge out there! A really nice area full of walkways, parks and stadiums. We had a quick look inside the aquatic centre, the velodrome and the basketball stadium. I love the Olympics so it was so great seeing the precinct! I got up at 3am most days to watch the swimming especially in 2012.

Got home and then Kahn and I met Ashlee (my friend I met on the Aussie fb page) and her friends Danica and Luke. Had a really great dinner and drink which was super cheap thanks to Ash's employee discount. I paid £5.80 for a pint of cider and a chicken parma! How I had missed parmas. Was a great night!

This morning I woke up completely exhausted. I've been going to bed too late and getting up early recently. Half term is over and school went back today so back I went to year 2 in Putney! Spent the morning with the puffins and the afternoon with the kingfishers. Never a dull moment at school. Today's highlights included a cheer going up when I walked I to kingfishers and being hugged by several students! Later in the day one girl said she wished I was her sister, then another said "I wish you were my mummy!" Ah - thanks guys?! Haha. The funniest was on the playground when two girls were telling me how old their brothers were. I told them mine was 20 and they asked how old I was so I got them to guess. One said 40 and one said a teenager - which is worse ?!? Kids are so funny with their lack of concept for age. I remember my second cousin Ella once telling me that anything older than 9 was "old". Haha.

Did some planning for tmro after school and now I'm on the train home. Just had a full coughing fit on the train where I just about couldn't breathe and not one person offered a cough lolly, water, anything. No one really speaks at all here on the train!! Different to home, for me anyway.

Cooking dinner and going for a walk in the park tonight with Kahn. Wasn't really thinking and didn't leave my keys this morning so he's been cooped up inside all day. And the NZ vs England cricket match was rained out a lot today so he couldn't even watch that on my laptop. Oops!!

Love to all
Claire
