Cold slightly better today, I was able to work :) I've got tmro and Monday locked in for work so I've paid my rugby ticket off already - yay!!
It was lovely and sunny all day today. This morning I taught year 4 foxes. We had maths and then topic which was all about them debating the good and bad points about zoos. I used Melbourne Zoo in lots of examples!
In the middle of the day I helped in year 4 badgers with Maths, then I taught them in the afternoon. We had a tennis specialist come in for a 30 minute clinic first up. The kids kept asking if it was Andy Murray coming to help - lol. I joined in and we all had fun! Then we had a session reading a poem about a boy being bullied and talked about friendship.
After school I was on duty for kids who hadn't been picked up by 3.30. One of the kids from my class wasn't picked up 'til 4, so we sat on the bench and he and I chatted the time away. He's such a lovely kid! Topics included Australia and our favourite superheroes (mine is Captain America and his is Superman in case you were wondering!).
I walked into the sports hall after school to put some hoops away from our maths game and about 10 kids in sports club yelled out "MISS G! HI!" Made me feel a million bucks. So nice knowing the kids here like me :)
Now I'm on the train home. There was an older couple on the platform at Stockwell looking rather confused, so seeing as most people here are so impatient I asked if they needed help. Turned out they were from Queensland and on a huge around the world trip seeing Canada, the UK and Europe! We chatted on the train and I helped them get the right train to Borough station. Good deed for the day done :)
Tonight I'm meant to be going to Jamie's to watch France v Canada but we shall see what happens. Tmro is Friday - Oktoberfest sure makes the week go quick!
Enjoy your public holiday pondering the fact that Saturday is grand final day Melbourne - maybe next year Daniel Andrews might actually do something beneficial instead of giving us a holiday we don't need - we can hope! ;) Make sure you get the lawn mowed dad or the day has been wasted!!!!
