I'll be honest, not the best of days today. But hey, you've got to take the good with the bad.
Last night was great! Got some things done then headed to the Novello Theatre to see 'Mamma Mia'. The bus outside my flat takes you directly there so it was super easy. The show was amazing! Have already seen the movie so knew exactly what was going to happen but loved it. Sang along and once again was able to move to a better seat at interval. And then for the three encores I was that daggy person standing up dancing and screaming out the words (probably wasn't the best for my voice but who can resist singing 'Mamma Mia', 'Dancing Queen' and 'Waterloo'!!). Mum - you should be proud! I was sat next to a lady alone from Israel and a couple from England and none of them got up! They just spent the whole time teasing me about Bill (the Aussie guy in the show's) accent!!
I changed classes five times today, so it was hectic to say the least. I went year 4, year 2, year 3, year 4 and other year 4. We basically did a lot of filler activities because the time I was covering them wasn't long enough to do a longer activity. Year 4 finished a story they had been doing, year 2 I taught them heads down thumbs up, year 3 we did a geography quiz. Well we tried to. I had Alisha's kids from last year who I used to teach all the time, and they've become very cheeky over the summer. Even some of those who were the best in the class previously. Such a shame :( apparently I've got five apology letters coming my way for bad behaviour tmro as their teacher read the note I left. Year 4 in the afternoon we made a word search about international week, but mid session two boys started fighting. And I mean fists were actually involved, and then some very horrible things were said. Things that I wonder how on earth 8 year olds had those words in their vocabulary. Silly me did exactly what you're not meant to and got in the middle, but as I'm new to everything it's extremely hard to know what to do. It was just going to escalate. The word search was funny though. One kid asked me how to spell "g'day" hahaha and then the class asked what it meant so I put on a terrible accent and said "g'day mate how ya goin'?" The last year 4 class of the day we finished their posters about equality and then had some presentations from kids for international fortnight. We finished off the food from their international fortnight tasting session.
Tonight I've about 13-14 people who say they're coming to view my room. I hope they actually come! Today has not been great and I really want my room sorted for when I leave ASAP. Going to practice job interview questions and get a few things done in between.
To make matters worse my cough/throat is now absolutely horrendous. I've got a job interview at 8.30am Melbourne time Friday and I'm wondering how on earth my voice will make it through, but we shall see.
Tmro is international dress up day at school and it's the last day of half term as Friday is an inset day. I'm wearing my dirndl, cue funny looks on the train!!! I think I might take Friday off if my voice is still bad, because today it's been so bad that when I breathe too heavy I cough so much it hurts.
Love to all
Claire

PS: Happy 'Back to the Future' day! In 'Back to the Future 2' Marty and the Doc go to October 21, 2015 to save Marty's kids. I remember being little and telling mum we would be alive for it!!
