Hello everyone!
Last night my friend James came over and we had a picnic in Shoreditch Park down the street from me. Was so great to catch up as I hadn't seen him since I was staying with Ann in Tooting Bec way back in May! We had lots of catching up to do. Ate lots of yummy food while watching people at various sports training in the park.
This morning I set off to work and was welcomed by the huge sign at the station reminding me of tmro's tube strike - the worst in ten years which will see 20,000 workers walk out and cause the entire tube network to be closed from 6.30pm tonight to 6.30pm tmro. Great - can't wait!!
School went fairly well today. Had year 3 again and taught them about Egypt. We made a comic about the mummification process, had assembly and then this afternoon we mummified tomatoes - and I survived! That's right, I had 20 something year 3s cutting up tomatoes and filling them with salt and not one was thrown, not one person silly, not one mess made! Yesss!!!
Tmro I'm in the other year 3 class for more Egypt topic!
right now I'm on the train back and will just make it before the strike starts. Tmro morning I'm either walking the hour to Waterloo for the national rail or Robert from school (year 3 teacher) is going to pick me and a few others up. So kind!! He says he likes driving. So do I, I miss it.
Right now Mum and Dad are on a plane on their way here. Words can't describe how excited I am to see them!! Meeting at Waterloo tmro arvo and I'm so excited. They literally couldn't have picked a worse day to come though with the strike haha! Oh well.
Love to all and GO PIES for tmro (congrats Swanny on 250th!)
Claire
