Kerry and Killarney

Hey everyone!

So my plan to go to sleep early last night kind of failed. I got so into looking up things for a possible trip to Croatia and then so into my book that I was still up at 1.30am when the others got back. Then we all had a good laugh and a chat and went to sleep at 2.

We spent a lot of today driving, but no complaints here - the scenery was AMAZING! Spent the majority of the first two hours sleeping on a pillow on Brendon's shoulder haha, but when I was awake I really enjoyed the patchwork hills and the sun even came out for a bit!

We stopped in Dingle, county Kerry for lunch. It was a cute little port town that's famous for fish and chips and very creamy ice cream. All the others went to a pub but after last night's dinner (quite a rip off) Brendon and I instead first got a delicious ice cream and then some takeaway fish and chips. The ice cream was incredible! So creamy. I had sea salt vanilla, butterscotch, honeycomb caramel and chocolate. Then we shared the fish and chips and ate them by the water.

We went walking around the town and enjoyed the colourful Main Street. I also got my picture taken with the golden statue of Fungie, the dolphin that made its way into Dingle port in 1984 and hasn't left. These days they take tourists on a boat to go and see him. Walked around and then met the group.

We then began the Kerry Coastal drive and were treated to some more beautiful scenery. Our first stop was some beehive passage tombs, basically some stone forts from ancient tribes. They're on some old lady's farm and according to Connell she's awful. She asks for €2 for you to literally walk up to them and look so I used my camera and zoom from the road instead - muahaha!

Next up was a cute little beach. It was so cold and lots of crazy Irish people were swimming - even without wetsuits! We then stopped for a viewpoint which was beautiful and then continued on to Killarney - our stop for the night!

The wifi here is terrible. Hopefully it works well enough to stream the footy in the morning. Go pies!!

Love to all
Claire
