Manchester and Keswick

Hello all!

Last night I crashed at Jamie's and this morning I got up at 5am and headed to Victoria Coach Station for our 7am bus. Brendon's hair and facial hair has grown so much that I walked right past him at the station and didn't recognise him - haha!! Just three weeks apart.

We got our bus to Manchester. It was about 5 hours and for once instead of being heating to the extreme, we found ourselves frozen to our seats. Lucky I left my jumper out! It rained most of the way and we stopped at a servo along the way.

Arrived in Manchester and got a cab to pick up our hire car. We had a drive around and went to the John Rylands Library, a beautiful old building on Deansgate. We had a quick look and then drove to Old Trafford, the home ground of Manchester United. I never knew about the Munich disaster. In 1958 Man U went to Germany to play football and on the way back were in a plane crash. Their plane was warned not to take off in poor weather but they did anyway. 44 people were on board, 23 died 11 of who, were Man U players. Two of the survivors were so badly injured they never played again. Man U went through a period where they had to assemble a whole new team and somehow just five years on they won the FA cup. We walked the perimeter of the stadium and saw the memorial boards and candle in honour of those who perished.

Got some pictures out the front and then drove to the Lake District! I slept part or most of the way due to being so tired, but enjoyed the countryside when I wasn't sleeping!! It was quite foggy and rainy though. Got to our B&B in Troutbeck and the owner is so lovely! Our rooms are super cute. After a quick game of 'Paper, scissors, rock' it was decided I would have the double bed and Brendon the single - woohoo!!!

We then headed into Keswick. The four of us walked around enjoying the cute town and buying a few things. We saw a local cricket match on the way - weird for a Monday evening!! Had dinner at a nice Italian restaurant and got an ice cream and now we are back at the B&B. It's so lovely - I'm so happy!!

Walking tmro!
Love to all
