Two days of school

Hi all!

Apologies - was so tired yesterday that I typed up a lovely blog for you all on the train and forgot to publish it. I deleted it today thinking I had posted it! So here's a recap of yesterday:

I got up at 6 (ergh!), walked to the station and got the northern line to Bank, the Waterloo city line to Waterloo and the national rail to Putney. It took just about as long as walking and the bus did from Ann's, but unfortunately instead of costing £1.50 it cost £4.40. Thankfully it's tax deductible! I saw the eye and Big Ben from the train which was so weird. How many people in their life get to say they see such cool landmarks on their way to work?! Still surreal I live and work here.

I won't go into detail about school but it was a pretty average day. I was in Alisha's class and I don't know what had gotten I to them over the weekend but they wouldn't listen to a thing I said and both Alisha and I had to get really angry at them. Sigh!!! Only saving grace was they behaved well in assembly.

Left school and did some grocery shopping on the way home. Mum - I am gaining a whole new level of appreciation for you and everything you do while I'm over here. Having to think about what I'm eating, groceries, washing etc all the time is exhausting because I'm not used to it. But it's a part of being an adult so I'm learning quick!!

Got ready quickly at home (ooooo! And I finally have a key that works!) and went to meet one of the guys I met at the footy club the other week for a drink. We had a really nice night and he's kindly leant me a pair of pliers so tonight I can get rid of the pesky sofa bed!

Today was so much better at school than yesterday. I was in Vicki's class and I really got them to listen. They were silly in the afternoon but I sat them down and had a big chat about respect and then made them be silent for a minute to make it up to me. If anyone talked the minute reset. Five people talked, so it reset five times. Eventually they got the message and so during play break (which was inside due to rain) they only got to watch 5 minutes of 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' (oh the nostalgia!) instead of 10-15. Overall they worked well once I got the message across!!!

Now I'm on my way home. Got out really early today because I worked hard at lunch and got all my marking done :) I'm fast becoming a pro at the trains to and from Putney and I now confidently walk to the lines I need! Yay!

Tonight I'll probably make an omelette and some veggies for dinner. Need to go and register at the local doctor on the way home and then tonight getting rid of the couch and having a chat to Cecilie - one of my house mates. Since I moved in the only time I've seen her was to whisper hello on the stairs at 6am today!

Love to all

PS: I've just gotten to the platform for the last leg of the journey home (Northern line to old street) and I have to wait 6 minutes!! What a joke - longest I've waited the whole time I've been here! (If you can't tell, I'm being sarcastic. At home 6 minutes for a train is a miracle. Funny how it's all relative :P)
