End of term (for me!)

Hi all!

I've had another really great day today. Spent the whole day in kingfishers. First we had spelling, then PE which was kind of scary to be honest!! We played beanbag toss into hoops. But the kids took so long to change that we didn't have much time. Thank goodness for Alisha's whistle or I've no idea how I would've gotten their attention outside!

Next we had maths. I worked with one table group and helped them with their work. One boy and two girls in particular made me so happy in this session. They finished all their work and then asked me for extension questions. I gave them slightly harder questions and they got them right, and then asked for harder ones. It got to the point where I was giving them questions like '98-43-26-16-5' to really trip them up and get them thinking and they all got so excited about them being difficult questions - it was hilarious! Very different to high school kids. They got that one right too so I gave them all a sticker!

I had playground duty at play break and afternoon break today. It was sunny and 20 degrees today so it was lovely! Kingfishers then had music which I went to and then ended the day with assembly.

I was feeling sad that today was my last day there today when Alisha and Vicki came in and asked what I'm doing the first week after half term break (as of tmro it's school holidays for a week). When I said nothing they asked me back again! They said I've really impressed them and that I should consider applying for something in September. Huge dilemma all - really want to go home end of year because I love home and I can't stay here forever, but I'm loving it here so much that I wish I could simultaneously live in both places come November. Don't worry Mum, I'm still coming home. Just it's going well here is all :) I rang the agency to let them know and they repeated the good feedback I had received. Confidence = up!

Now I'm on the train home and it's finally starting to sink in that tmro I go to Iceland! I am SO excited! Partly packed but finishing tonight. Headed to a hostel near Victoria station tonight and at 3.30am I'll make my way to the coach station for my bus to Luton Airport (same one I flew to France from - yay easyjet!).

So as of tmro the blog is back in full tourist mode for a week.

See you all in Reykjavik ;)

Love to all
Claire
