Rain and sunshine

Hey everyone!

So the day of spending no money yesterday came to an end when I went out for dinner - forgot about that! Oops. But had a good dinner with Em catching up and grabbing some things off her. Half my costume for the rugby 7s didn't turn up so the lady has resent it and it should hopefully arrive tomorrow! Keep your fingers crossed or I'm stuck for ideas!!

Braved the bus to school today. Think I'm getting a cold and my legs hurt from all the walking yesterday. The bus was fine and I actually arrived really early! So funny catching a bus that tells you you're going up Mitcham Road though haha. Just around the corner from home though hey!!

School went pretty well again today! I think I'll always have the feeling that I've no idea what I'm doing just because when you aren't a permanent member of staff at the school it's so hard picking up how everything works. 

I was in year 2 all day today with the same class. The morning was a tennis workshop incursion and I paired with one of the girls because there was an odd number. It tried hard to rain but thankfully didn't much! Not used to having to take my coat outside all the time haha. 

Then we did two big sessions on London and why London is on the river Thames (what the river was useful for to the people who settled here). Kids worked fairly well and I won't go into too much detail. Had to keep a few kids in as there was an incident of scratching someone at play break and then not listening to me in class. Due to that scratching incident we were also late for assembly - how embarrassing on my part!! Never mind, can only do the best I can. Unlike yesterday I actually remembered to eat lunch today so that's a bonus haha. 

Spent my lunch marking and then in the afternoon we had maths. It's funny - I'm secondary maths trained but sometimes due to that explaining the seemingly simple concepts is really hard!! But the students worked fairly well. 

Got my marking done pretty quickly at school so left about 4.30pm (ok, it took an hour, still quick I guess!). And then went to the supermarket down the road. I've bought Ann a bottle of wine and got myself enough food for lunch and dinner the next few days. Uncle Ben's rice pouches are gonna be my saviour this year after a long day. And they're cheap!

Sitting on a double decker bus at the moment, top level right hand side. I'm such a tourist still. If you sit there it feels like you're the driver haha. I am blending in well though. 19 and sunny this afternoon and I've had enough - I'm far too hot!! Meanwhile you guys at home are having similar temps at home and are "freezing"!!

Had a lovely feeling today when I was out in the yard and two kids from yesterday came running up to me "Hi Miss ___" (no last name privacy reasons) and also in the assembly one of the high risk kids from yesterday turned around and smiled and waved at me. They remember me! Hooray! :)

Tonight I'm resting a bit. Sounds weak but I'm still just wrecked at the end of the day because I'm used to being in travel mode and not work on your feet all day mode. But I'll get used to it :) Think there'll be some Downton tonight!! Finishing season 3.
