Flight of the Gibbons

Hello everyone,

Today we caught a taxi to our meeting point for our 'Flight of the Gibbons' zip lining experience. Our taxi driver was really nice and told us how much his two sons loved Steve Irwin!! We got caught in extreme traffic but made it on time. I will never complain about Springvale Road ever again! We literally sat at some intersections for 5+ minutes and had no light changes!

We made it on time and caught the bus for 1.5 hours with an Aussie couple from Port Macquarie on their honeymoon to the Khao Kheow Open Zoo. Here we spent 2 hours 60m above the ground flying through the tree tops on zip lines. The forest was absolutely stunning, I felt like I was in the Tarzan movie! Flying through the air surrounded by jungle with the sounds of birds and monkeys was amazing. It was of the best experiences I've had travelling!! Afterwards we got a fantastic included lunch which we enjoyed with the Aussie couple, a kiwi couple and three girls from Queensland. We were all then given an open bus tour of the zoo and got to pat rhinos, giraffes etc.

We headed back and Laura and I were late to our tour meeting because the traffic was so bad due to protests. They have really escalated today, there was an explosion outside MBK shopping centre. Luckily we are leaving here tomorrow for Siem Reap because it will only get worse before the election. It was rather embarrassing stumbling into our meeting 25 minutes late, I'm very concerned about the first impression we left haha. But I think everyone forgot about it because we all went out for dinner and I met some really nice people. There are about 15 of us. Mostly from England, but also from Wales, Scotland, Denmark and Switzerland. There is one other Aussie and she goes to Monash in Caulfield! Small world. Dinner was really yum and now tomorrow our bus to the Cambodian border leaves at 6.30am, then we spend two hours getting our visas done and then we get on another bus to Siem Reap.

See you in Cambodia ;)

Love
Claire and Laura

PS: some places on the tour don't have wifi and we are also going on overnight trains and buses at some point. So if I don't post occasionally that's why!!
