So firstly thanks very much for crossing your fingers and toes, because even though I'm not feeling 100% today, I'm much better than yesterday. It turns out Nina (another girl on the tour) got food poisoning yesterday and she had to spend the night in hospital, so I'm thankful that I'm much better today.
We had breakfast at a restaurant on the beach (and I could eat it - yay!!!) and then boarded a long tail boat for a day of Island hopping and snorkelling!! We stopped at three islands, snorkelling at the first and third. The first didn't have all that much coral or many fish, and I was feeling pretty weak so didn't stay in too long. Next we went to Bamboo Island, where we swam, played volleyball, sun baked (I mainly stayed in shade and water to keep cool!!!) and had a delicious lunch (again that I was able to eat part of, most exciting!). The island was beautiful and there weren't too many people around. We spent about 2-3 hours here.
Then we boarded the boat once again and went to the third island, where we could see fish and coral and sea urchins. It was nice, but I'll admit snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef twice has ruined any other snorkelling for me!! Too beautiful to compare to anything else. But it was fun all the same and I swam for quite a while here!
We returned back to the beach, where some little girls wove me some bracelets I bought off them. They are very clever! I'm covered in bracelets and anklets now haha. I bought a dress from a stall and now we are just relaxing at the hotel until dinner at 7.
Tomorrow we have a 10 hour journey to Vietnam. To Aussies this isn't too far, but everyone else on our tour isn't very impressed as that's longer than driving from the south to the north of the UK! For us it's just a casual Melbourne to Sydney football trip, eh Mum? Haha.
I don't think I will have wifi tomorrow as we are doing a homestay with a Vietnamese family, so will write in two days!!
See you in Vietnam,
Lots of love
Claire and Laura
