Hello everyone,
So originally there was going to be no blog tonight as I am really unwell but I'm toughing it out.
Today we left Phnom Penh at 8.30 and arrived Sihanoukville about 1pm. No axels broke this time luckily!!
The hotel is really lovely and modern, with spacious rooms and modern bathrooms. A nice change as the last two bathrooms weren't very good at all.
We headed for the beach quickly and went for a swim which was great because it was 30 degrees and the water was nice and cool. Once again there were people trying to sell stuff everywhere, from fruit and drinks to manicures etc. I was a bit embarrassed when one of the women came up to me and said "hairy legs...me fix?" Haha. There were also cheeky little kids there that kept throwing sand, and annoying tanned guys trying to get people on a booze cruise. I hated one of them the minute he spoke to me because he insulted how pale I am. Yeah well mate in 50 years who will have better skin?????!!!!
We went back to the pool after that, the hotel pool is really big. Then James and Laura wanted to get an ice cream and I decided to go with them. At this point I'd had a weird tummy ache for maybe an hour? We walked 50m away from the hotel and the tummy ache got worse, I said I had to go back. So I left them and turned around. I crossed the road and my vision went blurry, then I collapsed on the footpath and was very, very ill.
Louise and Emily helped me upstairs and for the next few hours Laura helped look after me by running a bubble bath, feeding me and giving me water and rehydration salts. I've continued to be sick all night and feel like absolute crap if I'm honest. Everyone else went out for dinner and drinks but I can't walk around for more than 30 seconds without feeling like I'll be sick. I watched federer vs Murray.
Am hoping in the morning I will feel better. Quinny (the guide) called me on the hotel phone before saying he's at the hospital with nina as she has become the same as me. Apparently it's sun stroke. I'm really glad I didn't have to go to hospital as nurse Laura really did the trick and I've no idea what I would have done without her. A true friend is one who sees you at your most disgusting and holds your hair back and pats you on the back telling you everything is ok (sorry if too much info I'm trying not to be graphic here!!!).
Anyway enjoy the photos and please keep all fingers and toes crossed that I wake up feeling normal.
Love you all
Claire and Laura
