Railway Museum and lots of rain

Hi everyone!

This morning I set out for the National Railway Museum with the American girl from my dorm. We had a great hour together looking at old trains. Our favourites were the royal ones (especially queen Victoria's - which even had a bathtub in one carriage!) and the train that transported Winston Churchill's coffin. The museum was set out so well in a huge station/warehouse with heaps of trains. Really enjoyed it :)

Then I headed back to the hostel and watched Collingwood vs Sydney. Shame we couldn't win but a good effort. Let's be honest, if we made finals we wouldn't go very far anyway, so maybe it's for the best. Hopefully the young ones learn from - yet another! - close loss.

I watched the last of the match while walking to the station to meet Jamie. People must have thought I was very strange standing on the platform swearing at my phone (how did Pendles and Jamie miss those?!?!). But then Jamie arrived and it's so great to see him! Unfortunately the weather didn't agree and it started pouring with rain. We got soaked walking to our B&B - never mind. We went to have lunch at Betty's Tearooms but the queue was horrendous so we settled for a Yorkshire pudding with Turkey, gravy and veggies instead and will try again tmro. By the time we arrived at Jorvik the queue was huge so again we are going tmro, this time first thing to avoid the queues.

We had a cake at Patisserie Valerie as recommended by dad and then walked to the Shambles, but the rain was still awful so we headed back to the B&B. We've booked a few things for our Croatia trip and are about to head out to watch Man U play Aston Villa.

Love to all
Claire
