Glastonbury, Wells and a bit of Bath

Hey everyone!

This morning Rachel and I had some brekky and then set off driving. It was pouring rain and did most of the day annoyingly! Never mind.

We drove for about an hour to the town of Glastonbury. All I knew about it beforehand was that there's a massive music festival there every year! Ironically the song 'Umbrella' came on the radio while we were driving!!

We got to Glastonbury and explored for an hour or so, looking in lots of hippy magic shops. It seems Glastonbury is full of shops selling oils, incense, tarot cards, that sort of thing! In some of the shops the incense was so strong it made my eyes sting haha.

Then we got back in the car and kept driving around. We went through Wells and saw the cathedral, and saw some Somerset countryside (through the rain and the windscreen wipers!).

Got back to Bath and had some cosy cheese on toast and tea. Rachel had to head off to work so I walked the few minutes into town. I was lucky enough to spend 3 days here in Bath in March, and during that time I visited the Roman Baths, Royal Crescent, Sally Lunn's Bun Shop and more. In March it was mainly dry and sunny, but today it poured the whole time!!

So I went for a walk, had a look around the main sights again and bought a cake from a cute cafe I discovered last time. It's interesting comparing my photos from last time to this time! I've attached one of Dad's photos he sent me last time that I recreated. It would seem that they create a floral display every summer in the park by the river. This year's display is rugby themed to celebrate the upcoming world cup in England! Then I headed back to Rachel's and I've had a bit if an afternoon getting some things done and resting. You know reality is creeping up on you when you start updating your resumé and key selection criteria!! :( Had to happen eventually I guess!!

Love to all
Claire
