Hola everyone!
Today we went for one last walk along the Promenade and then caught the airport bus. We caught a 12.40pm flight to Barcelona. We flew a cheapo airline and they took foreverrrrrr to put the bags on the carousel! But eventually they appeared.
We caught the airport train then the metro into the city in Barcelona. The hotel room is really spatious, only downside is you have to pay for wifi and it's only available in the lobby so if I disappear for a day or anything you know why.
We explored La Ramblas this afternoon, the main street in Barcelona. There are so many people here! The Carnaval is on so there are a lot of tourists around. Don't they know it's winter?!? Go home!!!! Haha. We had a look at the market stalls along the street and I bought a ladro. There are buskers everywhere and the streets are bustling and full of life. People warned us to be careful because of the high unemployment rate here at the moment (26% and 55% in our age group) but I haven't felt like anyone has been trying to steal our stuff at all.
Then we walked to a restaurant I had found online called Taller de Tapas and shared 6 tapas plates. Was honestly the best food I've ever had. We had a daiquiri and a sangria each - yum!!!!
Looking forward to a few more days here (especially the food!).
Love to all,
Claire
