Oxford Street lights

Hi everyone!

Had a great time yesterday evening. Firstly I met my friend Shine who I met in Cornwall over summer. We went walking in Oxford Street, looked at the lights and got a coffee in a side street. The lights in the side streets were even more amazing than the ones in actual Oxford Street I think! Shine is so lovely, she had written me a card, made me a bracelet and gave me a good luck charm she bought in China!

Then I met up with Ash, Lou and Em and we went and got dinner. We admired the lights again on the way. So pretty and bustling in Oxford St! We went to a Chinese restaurant near Piccadilly Circus. The food was great but Em has had food poisoning all day today :(

We had a great catch up and then went and had a drink at a pub too, was a really lovely evening.

Today started off as a work out. I lugged the 25kg suitcase I'm sending home to school. This seemed like a great way to not take a day off to have it picked up from home until I had to take it on my 70+ minute commute to school!! This involved walking 15 minutes, getting three trains and changing twice. What a great day for the escalator I use at Bank station to not be working!! I got a great workout and two Londoners even offered to help - some do have a heart after all! I finally arrived at school very sweaty and tired, but I did it! They picked up my case at 3.30pm so it's on the way to Australia now.

I started the day in year 6 doing Maths, then accompanied them to music where we sang Glenn Miller music (it was so much fun!!). Then I went to the other year 6 class for literacy and ended the day in year 4. I went to year 2 to give them a thank you card but Alisha was halfway through telling them off for taking too long to get upstairs so I'm going back tmro! Did manage to give both year 4 classes the cards I made though and the kids were so lovely! Think I'm in year 6 all day tmro so wanted to make sure I said goodbye. I got attacked with hugs and heaps of kids kept saying "you're coming back though....right??!" I told them I have to go home and teach Australian children after having learned so much from them in England!!

Now I'm at home. Ash and I made up pasta and rice with everything left in my fridge pretty much! It turned out surprisingly well!! Soon we are off for a drink in Shoreditch with Ash and Heather (the girl I met in Latvia!!).

Love to all
Claire
