Mormon and year 2

Hi all!

I hope those of you reading in Melbourne had a great Cup day and weekend. I'm annoyed I didn't read into it and put a bet on. I always place a bet on the horse that's name has something to do with Europe and the U.K.  Which horse won? Prince of Penzance. Where did I travel to in the summer? Penzance. I would have won $500 off the usual $5 bet I place. Bugger! Oh well. I won a few years back on Fiorente because it's name was similar to Florence's football team.

Last night Jamie and I went to the theatre to see 'The Book of Mormon'. During my time here this year I've seen seven shows, and this was my final one. I can't quite describe what it's like travelling from home to Piccadilly Circus tube and emerging surrounded by double deckers and lights. Now even more so that the Christmas lights are up! It's a feeling I'm really going to miss, the excitement of it all.

The show was fantastic and definitely the funniest musical I've ever seen! Wouldn't recommend it though if you're not a fan of lots of swearing, or if you're very religious. It mocks the Mormon religion, but to be honest it isn't in a nasty way, just a silly way. We laughed a lot!!

We had the "cheap" seats but actually were 11 rows from the front and had a great view :)

Got home and woke up this morning to head to the primary school. I was lucky today as my friend Alisha told me she was on a course so she helped organise for me to cover her class.

We had a great day, they're lovely kids! I gave out some of the stickers that mum sent me for my birthday and they absolutely loved them!

We started the day with PE/gymnastics. I did some demonstrations in my new dress which was tricky and the kids laughed haha. Then we had literacy during which we wrote letters to their teacher from last year who is now living and teaching in Cambodia.

After break we did some colour by numbers where they had to do subtractions, and in the afternoon we had a big discussion about Guy Fawkes and bonfire night and they made their own firework paintings by flicking coloured paint onto paper.

Overall a good day, and I've been booked in for Thursday and Friday this week, then Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week. So I had always intended to take Monday-Wednesday off next week, but now I'll take tmro off instead and pack my suitcase of things from my room. It will take longer than I anticipate, I'm sure!!

I'm on the train now and it's 4.30pm and the sun has set. SO depressing! Can't wait for daylight savings at home again soon. There are some things about London I'll really miss, but the very short days in Autumn and winter are not one of them!

Love to all
Claire
