Hi all!
Not too much to report today but I do have some nice photos!!
No work again. Well, I lie. One of the agencies called me and had work, but it was at a very dodgy school in a dodgy area and I decided I would much rather spend my day out in the 22 degree sunshine than have abuse hurled at me. I know I have the next eight school days lined up so it's all good!!!
Cecilie left for work and I watched some TV and got ready. Then I headed to Jamie's for a bit as he was working from home. We had lunch together, then he got back to work and I went walking. It still never quite hits me that I'm in the heart of the Olympics precinct when I head to his flat. I spent most mornings of the 2012 Olympics getting up at 3-4am to watch Aussies in swimming, athletics, whatever was on really (and the opening ceremony!). And now I spend lots of time in the area it all happened!!
I went walking and walked to the Olympic stadium, where I sat outside in the sun for a while laughing at kids playing in the water feature. It squirted water all over the place out of the ground sporadically and their laughter and joy at running through it was infectious! A school group even came by and all went in in their uniforms! Had I not needed to wear the same clothes for the remainder of the day I might have joined them!!! The stadium will be used in the upcoming rugby World Cup and is going to be West Ham's home ground as of next year.
I kept walking and then headed back to Jamie's for a coffee and some tv, before setting off again.
And it took me two hours including walking and the tube, but I'm now currently standing at the arrivals hall at Heathrow terminal 4. I'm really tired, it's hot and I've got people pushing me from all sides as I've hot a good spot, but I don't care! One of my oldest and closest friends, Bradley, has arrived and I'm about to see him for the first time since October last year. We stuck together when we got badly bullied in year 7 and remained in the same class all through high school. After school, Bradley moved to Sydney for university and I went and visited him numerous times.
Over the last five years, no matter how far apart we've been or how much time passes, we still stay close and it's like no time has passed when we are reunited. So I'm very excited!!!! But I wish customs would hurry up :P
I feel a bit like I'm in 'Love Actually' with all these reunions, and it's making me even more excited for my big one on November 17 at home!
Back to work tmro and then it's the weekend - the week goes quick when you're not working much hey!!
Love to all
Claire
