Hi everyone!
Had a great night catching up with Ash last night! Relaxed, made dinner and chatted. So good to see her!! And I have some great news. The primary school I've been working at the last seven days have asked me back every Thursday and Friday up until I go home - yay!!
Today started off horribly, but it improved. You know when your day starts, several things go wrong and you just wish you'd stay in bed? Yep, that was me.
Firstly I got ready and left. Walking to the station a double decker bus sped past, spraying a puddle all over me saturating my trousers and shoes. Brill. I then realised I had left my drink bottle at home. If you know me well, you know I drink a lot of water!!!
Then on the walk from Putney station to school ANOTHER bus sprayed me, after which I nearly got hit by a car whilst trying to cross the road and attempting to avoid a 3m wide puddle. In case you're wondering, I failed. Trousers and shoes literally soaked through :(
But I took it on the chin and finally arrived at school, umbrella, coat and everything else saturated. I wasn't going to let it ruin my day! I got a mug from the staff room for my water, I went to the bathroom and cleaned my feet as well as literally submerging my shoes in a basin full of water to rid them of dirty puddle water. Argh!!
The day started and it went well. We had PE first. Alisha made a surprise visit to say hi as she arrived back from Australia this morning and was back sorting herself for tmro, the kids were so excited! Then they kept writing their stories. Play time came but it was still pouring rain so they stayed inside. This meant next session they were very restless, but they tried their best.
In the afternoon they had music and I used the time to get as much done for Alisha as possible. I tidied the classroom heaps, made sure everything was in order and did as much to save her time as I could.
Now I'm on my way home and tonight Ash and I are making garlic bread with pasta for dinner - so excited! The rain has cleared up, it did so in time for most of lunch so the kids got to run around outside! And I think if it holds out we might go for a walk to Regent's Canal tonight. Ash has spent the day getting some Uni work done and avoiding the rain.
Love to all
Claire
