I dunno about you, but I'm feeling twenty two-oooooo....! ...oh wait!!
Hello everyone!
Last night Ash and I cooked some dinner and went walking to Regent's Canal. The rain finally buggered off so we were able to walk, although it was really cold! Will be taking a scarf and hat next time at night.
We had a funny incident involving a spider and Kate! Ash and I heard a scream from upstairs, followed by Kate saying "Mark! Help!" We all rushed upstairs with Kate telling us there was a quote "huge spider" on her window. To which I replied saying "spiders in England! Ha!" Mark arrives, and the spider was no bigger than a daddy long legs. Ash and I were beside ourselves with laughter and said they should come to Aus haha. Nevertheless, Mark got up on Kate's bed to flick said spider outside and rid Kate of its horror. Hahaha!
I also have some exciting news! Lastminute.com had a 48 hour sale on theatre tickets, and I managed to nab some £15 ones. I'm now going to 'Bend It Like Beckham' with my housemate Kate next Wednesday, and then 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime' by myself the following Monday. Tempted to book £17 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' as well, we shall see!! I can walk home in 45 minutes from all theatres - love where I live!
This morning I caught the train back to the school out west I spent two days at a couple of weeks ago. On the train I listened to Taylor Swift's '22' one last time as a 22 year old! Back two weeks ago there was me and one other supply, today there were about six of us! Scarlett (from last time) was there, and a really nice English girl called Emma and a few other people.
I was lucky enough to score period one off, so I read my paper and my book. Then I had two year 8 sessions of Graphics in a row. The first went fairly well, the second I had to yell a lot and send one kid out. Argh!!! But they did their work.
Next was year 10 art, they just worked individually and were amazing. I then had my lunch period and last up I had year 9 German. I was SO happy because the worksheet they had to do was all stuff I knew! I was able to answer every single question I got asked and I feel it gave me more authority over the class which was brill, and when they came in the room asking "miss, are you a German teacher?" I just said yes!! They were very loud so I wrote names on the board (I love how good I am with names, very useful) and I had to keep four back after school. Another teacher walked past so after me yelling at them he tore shreds off them too, hopefully they'll be more respectful to supply teachers now! This school is fantastic at helping supply teachers curb bad behaviour. Some schools don't give any support.
An interesting thing happened during period 6. I walked into class as a 22 year old, but I walked out as a 23 year old! As it ticked over to 3pm, it was officially my birthday in Australia! And I'm bloody counting it ok?? My birthday goes for 33 hours this year as far as I'm concerned. One of the kids said "miss, it's my birthday today!" And I could happily look at my watch and say "me too!" Hehe.
Tonight I'm going out for dinner with about 7-8 friends in Covent Garden, which is really cool because we are meeting at 6.30pm. This is 3.30am in Australia, which is the time I was born! I have my three cards from mum/dad, nan/pa, grandma/grandpa and my ecard from Robyn/Ian to open, but I'm waiting until after dinner because if I open on the tube or at dinner I'll probably cry in front of people hahaha!!!
I am SO excited for tmro! I've never had a birthday overseas and this one is going to be EPIC. Harry Potter studios, then dinner with Ash, then the rugby World Cup at the Olympic stadium - woohoo!!!
Love to all, and I'm already feeling the birthday love all the way over here!!

PS: By the time you all read this the wallabies will have played Fiji in Cardiff in the rugby World Cup - GO AUSSIES!!!
