A Day of R&R

Hi all!

First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my aunt Robyn! I hope you have a wonderful day :) :)

Last night we had a takeaway dinner. I had one of the Belgian rolls filled with chips. And it was literally full! I couldn't close the bread to eat it it was so full!! But it was delicious.

Then we joined a pub crawl with the same company that ran yesterday's free tour we did. Had a really fun night meeting lots of nice people - we had a good group! Met people from Finland, England, Wales, Mexico, Israel, Brazil, and even one girl from Phillip Island at home!!

Today Troy went on a daytrip to Luxembourg, but as those who read my blog know I went there last week. So I've spent the day just relaxing. I checked out of the hotel and checked in to our new one that's included on our Anzac tour that starts tonight. We are staying at the Novotel and after four months of staying in hostels, sleeping on couches, floors, buses etc I am in HEAVEN! Huge room, comfiest bed I've slept in since mine at home and it's just clean and modern and lovely! This tour was quite expensive so I'm glad to see the hotels will be so nice.

I've spent the day having a much needed rest. I've seen all I want to in Brussels so I took the opportunity to nap, watch some movies and TV and get some things done in preparation for travel later in the year.

Tonight we have our welcome dinner for our tour. Troy won't be there due to arriving late back in Luxembourg. I think most people will be Aussies but I'm curious to see what age group it'll be!

So for the next ten days from Brussels to Paris we will be visiting lots of places of significance from WWI. I missed out on the Gallipoli ballot and I wanted to do something special to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings. I think it's going to be a really rewarding and memorable experience!

Love to all
Claire
