Jet skiing

Hi everyone,

We spent most of yesterday morning around our deck. I walked to the shore and then had the mild current drift me out on my inflatable to our room. Rob went snorkelling around the overwater villa pylons and reckons he saw a lion fish (poisonous!).

At 1pm we had a Jet ski tour we had booked. Rob had been jet skiing before but I hadn’t. Unfortunately the other couple on the tour were chicken and went half the speed the guide, Hector, told us we needed to do. And Hector was at the front, followed by them and then us so we got stuck going slow. After a stop at a sandbar, Rob and I swapped over and I had a turn driving. We came up with a strategy that involved pretty much coming to a stop and then fanging it for 30-40 seconds until we caught up to them. I got pretty confident and started speeding over waves while laughing maniacally - it was fun! I imagine it would have been even better if we could have consistently gone that speed, but never mind.

Once back, we had lunch and then hung by the pool. Rob went to the gym while I continued to read my book. Afterwards, he tipped the barman, Vishan, and then asked him to fill our thermos tumblers with pina colada. Great idea!

Later on, we had dinner and then went to a music Kahoot afterwards, where you had to guess the band or artist the live band were playing. The music was good, but I didn’t do very well as they were mostly songs I didn’t know the band or artist of! Rob did a bit better than me.

We ran into our neighbours, Rich and Alice, on our way to dinner. They left this morning. I remember on our first day them telling us they were halfway through their trip. It goes fast!!
