Final day at Riu Atoll

Hello all for the final time from Riu Atoll,

We got up early today and went for a walk, before having breakfast. Then we picked up our snorkels and headed back to the house reef that we explored yesterday. We snorkelled it together for about an hour today, seeing lots more colourful fish, three clownfish and a Moray eel which was cool (from a distance - glad we weren't close!!).

We then spent a while in the pool, reading and watching the fitness class. Our favourite bartender, Visham, sorted us out with a few drinks again and we talked to some nice people from Northern Ireland and Malta.

Our final part of the afternoon was spent swimming around near our deck one last time. We watched the sunset and reflected on what a wonderful time we have had here over the last nine days, and we can't believe how quickly it has gone. Anyone that knows me well knows I am not a resort type, and that this is far from my typical holiday type. However, I have enjoyed our time here at Riu Atoll for what it was - a beautiful place with lots of activities and beautiful snorkelling. I feel like if you're going to do the Maldives, you need to do it as we have - on an island constantly in the water and sunshine. Our final two days will be spent in the capital city, Male, on the way home. Most people likely don't do that and just go straight home, but again if you know me well you know I love to learn about how people actually live and work in the countries I visit.

See you tomorrow in Male.

Love to all
Claire
