Hello all!!
Last night we went to church on Christmas eve. We stayed for about 15-20 minutes at the back with the other tourists. The organs we eerie but very Christmassy haha.
We spent our Christmas in a very different way today. We went to Dachau Concentration Camp (only thing open today). Though this was both a shocking and gloomy experience (as it was the last time I went there two years ago), in a way I guess it conveyed the true meaning of Christmas - cherishing and appreciating what we have and learning from past mistakes to make the future better. I think all of us especially Adam benefitted from going. He's studying a book about nazi Germany in year 12 so he will have a head full of knowledge going into that!
After that we drove to Regensburg. Everything in town was closed today so we decided to drive out in the country. I chose Regensburg because my friend Constanze now lives and studies there. She was in hamburg with her family for Christmas though so we just had a look around the old town and river. It was really nice!
Tonight we are just hanging out in our room and then tomorrow we have to start packing up ready to leave for Istanbul/Innsbruck!
Love to all,
Claire
