Hello all from Indonesia!
After a great term one, here I am! It flew by as usual because it was so busy.
Initially I was booked in to fly to Bali with Tiger Airways, but at the start of February they cancelled all their services between Australia and Indonesia. It was pretty stressful (and expensive!) rebooking, especially because the main reason I booked the trip was due to flights being so cheap. But thankfully my travel insurance covered the difference in airfares. Lesson learned - don't book with Tiger again!!
Mum drove me to the airport today and it was a stark contrast with the Tullamarine I experienced on my way to America at Christmas. It was dead quiet with hardly any people about!! I got through checkin quickly and passed the time at my gate by watching Netflix.
We boarded the plane and I have to say I was pretty impressed with Jetstar. For a low cost airline they're alright. The seats were fairly comfortable and I somehow lucked out, because my entertainment system worked without me having to pay! Everyone around me said it asked them to pay $10+. Win!!
The flight went fairly fast as I watched two movies and dozed off to sleep a couple of times. Upon our descent we could see fireworks in the distance which was pretty cool!!
My bag took a while to come out and then I headed through to the arrivals hall. There were hundreds of guys holding signs and I somehow managed to spot mine after only a few minutes. My photo doesn't even show half of them!! Now we are waiting for a girl named Julia who was on the same flight as me. I've spoken to her on Facebook and her bag hasn't come out yet. She's on my tour. Some of the people on the tour met up today but it starts at 10.30am tomorrow.
I'm looking forward to seeing how I enjoy my time here. I said I would never come here but I'm keeping an open mind and think it will be lots of fun!!
