Hi all,
If you're reading this it means the hostel in Ollaytantambo has half decent wifi! No photos though because I haven't got the iPad to load them onto. Photos next week!
I slept absolutely horribly last night! The light outside mine and Rach's room was so bright that we woke at 2am and thought it was time to get up!! Feeling a little achy after rafting but we will be ok :)
This morning the four of us set off to the Inca Museum. It was pretty good, we got to see lots of relics including pottery and weaving supplies. But I think I liked the Coca Museum better yesterday, I felt we learned more there. Still pretty good though.
We chilled out the rest of the day. Walked around a little, had a cold drink at Starbucks and then waited at the hotel for our 1pm bus to Ollaytantambo. We got on the bus and as a joke Anne asked if everyone had their passports (you can't do the Inca Trail without them). Ash suddenly discovered she didn't, so her and Carla had to go back to the hotel and get it!! Lucky Anne asked.
The bus ride went fairly quickly because I slept a lot of the way. We stopped at a pretty view point.
We arrive in Ollaytantambo (pronounced something like Oyatatambo) and went for a walk around town. We stopped in a shop for last minute supplies and it started raining buckets. This is a sign of things to come, I looked up the weather forecast and it's meant to pour with rain and thunderstorm the whole time we are on the trail.
I was already a little nervous and that isn't helping. Hopefully the rain will be intermittent and not constant. My leggings and all seemed to hold up well in the rain though so at least that's something!!
So this is my final goodbye on the blog until at least Thursday or Friday Melbourne time. I'll try for Thursday but it depends how exhausted I am!!
Again, I'll be thinking of you all to spur me on! Think positive thoughts of a little amount of rain please!!!
Much love to all
Claire
