Brunch, Borough Market and shopping in Wandsworth Town

Hello all,

Had the best sleep of the trip last night and woke up feeling refreshed. Alisha and I headed to the station, and on the way I commented on how beautiful Barnes common that we walked through was.

We headed into Waterloo where we met Sue, who used to also work at the same school as us. From here the three of us caught a train from Waterloo East to London Bridge, where we met another ex workmate Jemima for brunch at a place called Grind. It was fabulous to catch up! I hadn't seen Sue since I worked here, and Jemima since she visited Melbourne in 2018. She's now pregnant as well and is due in a few weeks which is really exciting. I really enjoyed the food and the company, and the bonus Collingwood win that Mum messaged me about during brunch too!!

Sue, Alisha and I wandered around Borough Market afterwards and had a drink. There were so many people around and lots of great smells of different foods being cooked and sold. I will have to pop back there one day this week to buy some lunch.

We then caught the train back towards Barnes. I left the train early and got off at Wandsworth Town as I wanted to do some shopping. I went to Southside Shopping Centre and bought a few basic things I've needed for a little while that I knew I would find at Primark when I visited. I love Primark! It's like Kmart but the quality is much better and the prices the same if not better. I was excited to visit again. I ended up with new tights, singlets, a cross body bag, some hair clips, two dresses and a top. Not bad for someone that doesn't shop very often and has grown a bit of a dislike for it!! One of the photos below is of me in a new dress.

I headed back to Shannon and Alisha's after looking in a few shops, and had a bit of a rest. Then we went out for dinner at a Thai place called Yum Sa in East Putney. The food was fantastic and the company even better.

Another great day over here. It's like no time has passed with the three of us, and I'm loving every minute of catching up.

Love to all
Claire
