Happy New Year!!

Hi all!!

I know I said I wouldn't post again here but it turns out I am actually pretty good at the keyboard now - haha!

Since Monday, we went to Versailles which was beautiful but overtaken by Asian tourists who didn't appreciate its beauty - still loved it though!! We also went to Galeries Lafeyette and did some shopping. On Wednesday we went to the Louvre, we saw the Mona Lisa. It was pretty good but we found that the Louvre had too many religious paintings and were far more impressed with the Musèe d'Orsay which we absolutely loved!!

Today we went up the Eiffel Tower which was amaaaazing!! It was so foggy when we got off the train, but when the gates opened an hour later the clouds parted and for 2 hours Paris was filled with beautiful sunshine and blue skies! We were so lucky! I took the most spectacular photos. This weather also lasted for our trip to the Arc de Triomphe, so we had beautiful views there as well for about 10 minutes. After this the sky again turned grey, but we had used the good weather wisely! We walked down the Champs Elysèe which was beautiful, spent some time in the Tuileries Gardens and then headed back here.

Hope you are all well and Happy New Year to you all!! I will be sure to keep an eye on the clock and when it hits 2pm here will be excited at the prospect of a new year beginning in Melbourne!

Have a great New Year's Eve, love to you all, Claire xox

  2. Hi Claire
i loved Musee d'Orsay too - and much more than the Louvre. Also try to get to the Rodin museum if you get a chance - wonderful sculpture. Oh and the tea rooms at the mosque are so cool - beatiful, and lovely tea and little snacks.
hope you are keeping warm :-)
